COMPREHENSIVE EXAMS

At each consultation, we conduct basic non-invasive diagnostics to establish baseline values and monitor therapy response, such as the Schirmer Tear Test, Tonometry, Fluorescein Stain test, and Chromatic light testing. Following these tests, a thorough eye examination ensues, employing slit lamp biomicroscopy and indirect ophthalmoscopy without dilation. Our Single Diagnostic Technician Appointment: Conducted by our skilled technicians under Dr. Park-Dorner’s oversight, this appointment begins with one of the essential ophthalmic tests such as the Schirmer Tear Test, Tonometry, or Fluorescein Stain test for therapy tracking of your pet’s ocular health, guaranteeing top-quality care for your pet’s ocular health. The curbside appointment minimizes clinic time for your pet, reducing stress during the visit.

INTEGRATIVE THERAPY

At Integrative Ophthalmology for Pets, we blend Eastern herbal and food therapies with Western treatments, ensuring holistic care for your pet. Upon request, Dr. Nancy Park-Dorner may recommend personalized food therapy, herbal therapies or supplements based on your pet’s temperament, Chi personality, and diet. These recommendations address specific eye conditions and are tailored to your pet’s needs. Please understand that specific therapy recommendations require an examination, as each pet is unique. Please note that if your pet is on a prescription diet or under the care of a veterinary nutritionist, consultation with them is recommended before any dietary changes.

BREEDER CERTIFICATION EXAMS

For breeding purposes, OFA eye exams are crucial to certify freedom from hereditary or congenital conditions. These assessments, formerly known as CERF exams, are now provided by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). We offer exams at our office as well as off-site, depending on quantity of pets being examined.

Office exams are $90 per pet.
Off-site clinics are $83 per pet, plus travel fees.

The exam includes temporary pupil dilation and thorough evaluation of the eye using specialized equipment. Results are recorded on an OFA online form for submission. Any abnormalities may necessitate further consultation or testing. Our fees do not cover OFA certification costs, and if a comprehensive exam is recommended, these fees do not apply to that appointment.Please ensure your pet is microchipped; While we can perform the exam without microchipping, certification from OFA won’t be possible.
